About the SVEC

Background
Founded in 1989, the Silicon Valley Engineering Council is a non-profit educational organization. Its purpose is to assist its member engineering and technical societies in Silicon Valley to better serve our members and the community. Click here for communities served.
Vision
Silicon Valley Engineering Council is the alliance for engineering leaders in Silicon Valley.
Goals and Objectives
- Coordinate activities and assist communications among local engineering societies.
- Sponsor and promote engineering educational activities, programs and outreach.
- Promote the career development of engineers and other technical professionals.
- Increase the publics understanding of the impact of engineering and science in enhancing the quality of life.
- Promote community service by the engineering and technical societies and their members.
Programs and Services
- Establish an information service for member organizations.
- Promote regional pre-engineering outreach programs including Discover E, MATHCOUNTS, and FIRST Robotics.
- Sponsor the Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame Awards to recognize past achievement and promote future endeavors.
- Coordinate Engineers Week activities.
