This meeting was held in the conference room of B-107 at Lockheed-Martin, we want to thank them for their support and hospitality. The meeting began at 7:11 PM, ended about 8:20 PM.

President’s Report
WFSV curriculum meeting held at LM early June, well attended.
SWE 30th anniversary celebration held at LM in the exhibits area, good attendance
Treasurer's Report - Ed Kaminski. Ed was unable to attend this meeting.

WFSV Update — Rendee Dore’

Approximately 63 attendees, 20 students

Two meetings are held each year — in Oct (Fall) the goals are identified and in the Spring the progress is reviewed. This meeting was attended by educators, industry representatives, and students.

Cliff Monroe also reported on the activities of STRUT — Students Recycling Used Technology. This activity has resulted in 463 computers being refurbished and distributed.

Officer Elections for 2001

Sam is the Chair of the Nominations Committee this year. A booklet containing the resume for all candidates who previously expressed interest was distributed and also posted to the website. Each candidate was given an opportunity to discuss their interest and focus for SVEC. During this part of the presentations Ron Kane withdrew his candidacy so that only 4 Director nominees were listed for the election. The office of President was the only contested position. A secret ballot was taken for the office of the President, all others were uncontested.

Summer Activities / Events

ASCE — Steve Sherman — During the next few weeks they will hold their monthly meeting "Keeping Golf Course Grass Green using Recycled Water", check with Steve for details. APWA meets 7/19 at Michaels.

SAE - Larry Rinek — The local SAE section — "Mid California Section" is likely to go inactive. Merging with adjacent organizations is being considered.

Friends of the Fremont Pool — Edwin — Sunnyvale Council approved support (6-0) and a bill is now in review in Sacramento. The City of Sunnyvale is also seeking funding for the Patent Library, the librarian would like to make a presentation at the next SVEC meeting…

ASME — Metin indicated that there will be a July meeting. Also there is a MEMS "club" that meets monthly at Xerox PARC, check with him for further information.

IEEE — Ardsher Ahmed, Kane — IEEE takes a break during the summer.

AIChE - Manesh Shah — A fund-raiser golf tournament to be used for high school scholarships is planned. This is an annual event.

ISA — Michael Wright — This group is basically inactive, an effort to reinvigorate the group is being attempted.
