We are finally returning to in-person outreach events!
For the first time since October 2018,  Cal ACS will take hands-on science to North Bay Science Discovery Day in Santa Rosa on Sunday, May 15th, and we could use a few extra hands.
Admission to this event is FREE — but you must present proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test result.
The 2022 Chemists Celebrate Earth week theme is “The Buzz About Bugs: Insect Chemistry,” so our activity will focus on plant scents that attract or repel insects.   Visitors can sniff the plants and then learn about the molecular structures, using plastic molecular models to build their own molecules.  We’ll have plenty of chemistry souvenirs for them, including copies of Celebrating Chemistry with more activities they can try at home.  This event will run from 10:00 AM to 4 PM, so anytime you want to join us would be helpful.  I plan to arrive around 8:30 AM for setup.
